If you’ve no plans this weekend, other than hunkering down and waiting for Spring, then may we make a suggestion? Head over to Vimeo and take a look at Booted, the latest short film to come from Sword and Fiddle Productions. Filmed in 2024 across various locations in the South-West, it will be available to view from 1st March 2026.
Booted takes the form of a parent’s message to their child, narrated while remembering the course of their life via the medium of their footwear. Made by husband and wife team Alyn and Amy Sparkes, the production is further rooted in the region through contributions. It stars Bristol Old Vic Theatre School graduate Olivia Edwards and Devon-based actor Simon Alison, with music from Exeter singer-songwriters Sound of the Sirens (pictured).
As well as Vimeo, you’ll also be able to view it here. The team are hoping to see it featuring at festivals over the coming year, too. Watch this space!
