UKTV has announced the release date and details for Series 2
Last summer was a busy time for filming in Devon, with crews popping up all over the county, making the most of our locations.
The team behind reimagined iconic 80s detective drama Bergerac were among them. And today, UKTV has revealed the news that Series 2 will be back on our screens from 16th April on U and U&DRAMA.
Produced by BlackLight TV, part of Banijay UK and written by Toby Whithouse, the Jersey-set series was also filmed across various locations in Devon, highlighting how versatile and diverse the county is.
We loved being able to help this production navigate the filming process in Devon and a shout out to Location Manager Ali Porter for her kind words about us:
“The team have been instrumental this year in supporting us throughout pre-production and production on Bergerac 2…they’ve been collaborative, professional and incredibly helpful”.

So, what can we expect from Series 2?
Well, another gripping mystery that unfolds across all six episodes.
Damien Molony returns as the complex Jim Bergerac – a detective grappling with life as a recovering alcoholic and widower. He is joined once again by Zoë Wanamaker as Charlie Hungerford, Robert Gilbert as Barney Crozier and Chloe Sweetlové as Kim Bergerac.
And this season will also see new cast members, including Devon resident Adrian Edmondson as the charming Nigel and Lesley Sharp as Monica.
We’ll see Jim Bergerac starting to put his life back together, while his mother-in-law Charlie has a new man in her life. Jim’s even tentatively dating, with Kim’s encouragement, although it’s a big step for him. But then he meets Nicola, a visitor to Jersey, and they connect. Could this be the start of something for Jim, or will his next big case pull him in before the relationship has time to blossom?
Series one saw a record-breaking debut last year. We’re looking forward to seeing how the new story unfolds – and how Devon plays its part. Location-spotters, assemble!
