At Screen Devon, we know that the West & South West has a distinct positioning in the UK screen landscape. But we also know that it has often lacked a unified approach when it comes to promoting strengths and opportunities across the region. [Spoiler: there are many!]
Until now!
Because excitingly, a new South West Screen Consortium is emerging, to champion our special part of the UK. From BFI-funded skills development in Swindon, Bristol and Cornwall, to company and talent development support, and a strong, collaborative network of film offices dedicated to local and incoming productions, the South West Screen Consortium is committed to raising our profile.
And where better to celebrate this positive development than at a special event, as part of the brilliant Encounters Film Festival in Bristol next week?
Screen Devon will be there (come say hi!), alongside the other key South West Film Offices, Screen Agencies and organisations who make up this new powerhouse.
The gathering will be a great opportunity to connect with South West-based production companies, find out more about the consortium and hear a panel of South West screen businesses discuss why it’s important to confidently brand our region and enhance its profile.
It’s a FREE event, sponsored and supported by Creative UK and WECA as part of the Create Growth Programme. So if you’re planning to attend Encounters this is definitely one to add to your schedule. Just make sure you RSVP via the link below.
